Birmingham live event list 2018/2019

Birmingham offers theatres and a network of intimate clubs where you can see some of the greatest musicians and actors including up-and-coming performers. Highlight hosts the best live entertainment events across a range of venues from comedy pubs across the city where you can laugh with the next generation of Lenny Henry’s and Peter Kay’s or musicians at Symphony Hall, cabaret at The Jam, tribute bands and variety shows are all on show in Birmingham.

4 August 2018 Highlight Comedy: Comedians on the night will include the fabulous Kane Brown, the French and funny Arielle Souma with one-liner champion Lovdev Barpaga. At MAC (Midlands Arts Centre).

28 November 2018: Mark Palmer: If you like Jerry Seinfeld, you will love Mark’s ability to blend a theme or topic in one of the funniest routines. His smart, clean and often opinionated brand of comedy has made him an audience favourite wherever he performs. At Glee.

16 January 2019: Jellybean Martinez is a Spanish pop star who works an audience like no other. He’s an explosive, high energy act; jam-packed full of camp nonsense and leaves an indelible mark on any punters mind. At Hare and Hounds.

3 February 2019 James Shewood is arguably the best musical comedian you will see, writing his own unique comic songs on his keyboard that goes with him everywhere whilst also having topical material. There are songs about grammatical inaccuracies and failed nightclub courtships which will have you crying with laughter. At Glee.

25 September 2018 Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets celebrates Pink Floyd’s body of work played live including songs from albums 'The Piper At The Gates of Dawn' and 'A Saucerful Of Secrets’. At the Sunflower Lounge./p>

26 October 2018 Sons of Kemet play a mix of jazz, rock, Caribbean folk, and African music. at the Hare and Hounds

11 November 2018 Dashboard Confessional at The Mill. Dashboard Confessional takes the sound of indie rock and acoustic rock, citing Jawbreaker, Refused, The Beatles, Nirvana, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, The Beach Boys, Minor Threat, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Fugazi as their influences. 9 February 2019 New Purple Celebration - The Music Of Prince with a nine-piece live band and Jimi Love as Prince in a hit of a two-hour plus show of endless music. At MAC (Midlands Arts Centre).

12 October 2018: One Night In Las Vegas Tribute Night, a musical tribute to the Rat Pack and the stars of Las Vegas. The show includes a 3-course meal, tribute show and disco. At MAC (Midlands Arts Centre).

17 November 2018: Rod Stewart & Tina Turner Tribute Night with Garry Pease as Rod Stewart.who not only looks like Rod Stewart, he sounds like him too, playing an all-action, non-stop tribute show at Glee Club.

30 March 2019 Whitney Houston Tribute Night. Beverly Savarin pays the ultimate tribute to Whitney Houston with amazing music sung with power, passion and perfection. Only at Hare & Hounds.

Variety show for all ages

From robot entertainers, drag artists, mime acts and puppeteers. From cabaret to Burlesque Highlights create a live variety night for all to enjoy.

15 September 2018 The Good Old Days of Music Hall and Variety. A show for all ages, starring the power house performance of TV legend Stu Francis, the comedian who hosted Crackerjack in the early 1980s, backed by a full supporting company, live band, hilarious comedy, speciality acts, and lots of songs you will know to sing along to at MAC (Midlands Arts Centre).

22 January 2019 Our highly-anticipated urban variety extravaganza at the Crescent Theatre. Prepare to be enthralled by a stellar line-up for a show where the audience can also be a star, with prizes on offer to any member of the audience with the talent to entertain and claim the stage at Glee.
